Verche – As One / Ocean Night

As sure as the changing of the seasons, we have come to expect that rising talent Verche will deliver whenever called upon. This month, he makes his return to Heath Mill Recordings for a third and final offering of the 2017 campaign with the two track EP, officially scheduled for a December 25th release date. The EP delivers two brand new cuts from the ever-evolving, Croatian-bred artist that figures to set him up for a proper run come the turn of the new year.

The EP's lead track, titled 'As One', is far and away one of the most unique releases to grace the Heath Mill imprint thus far. Featuring a smooth, breakbeat-inspired rhythm to start, Verche takes a careful approach softening the notes of the percussive melodies over the first three minutes while working in a series of dream-like synth patterns over the top. The addition of echoed vocal snippets add a textured feel to a production that exhibits breakbeat, progressive, and trance qualities near flawlessly within its storied corridors.

'Ocean Night' is another unique production from Verche, capable of headlining an EP in its own right, that focuses a bit more heavily on the dance floor. Bellowing synth chords are met with consistently crisp percussive melodies, meeting in perfect harmony around the constant pulse of the record's kick/clap combo. It's that very bass bin-rattling pulse that has us excited for peak time capabilities, but don't let the production fool you because its inviting soundscape and soft vocal strands make it a diverse weapon for DJs everywhere.
